5th in a series of 5. The music that shaped me.

The first time I heard New Order, I had no idea who Joy Division was.Their debut album Movement was released by Factory records in 1981. The music was dark and melodic. It was the first time I heard the use of synthesizers, and listening to it would evolve my idea of what a rock band could be. The album cover was so completely different from anything I had seen.

The combination of blues, the graphic and asymmetrical use of simple shapes and the bold and purposeful placement of text. So simple yet so complicated. The cover and the music.
